B³ Pregame Report: Sioux City Musketeers vs. Lincoln Stars

The Lincoln Stars are back at the IceBox on Tuesday evening when they will face off against the visiting Sioux City Musketeers.

Puck drops at 7:05pm CST.  Admission to this game is free, but the Stars will be accepting donations for long-time billets Jennifer and Jim Klein.  More about that at the end of this article.

Lincoln has a record of 1-4-0 in five preseason games so far this month.  The Stars will wrap up their preseason schedule this upcoming weekend with two games at the 2014 USHL Fall Classic (West).

The Sioux City Musketeers have not played any preseason games against USHL teams so far this month, but they are certainly battle tested.

The Muskies recently represented the USHL at the 2014 Junior Club World Cup in Ufa, Russia.  At the conclusion of JCWC tournament, the Musketeers won the bronze medal with a 4-3 OT win over Dinamo-Shinnik Bobruisk.

In a total of six games at the JCWC , the Musketeers had a record of 4-2-0 and outscored their opponents 29-17.  Sioux City forward Adam Johnson was the tournament's leading scorer with 9 points (6g, 3a) scored in only five games played.

This should be a very good test for the Stars, as I believe the Musketeers will be one of the top teams in the USHL western conference in 2014-15.  I believe they are the deepest team in the west, and possibly in the entire USHL.

This past Friday, the Stars asked fans to bring monetary donations for the People's City Mission.  On Tuesday, the team is collecting monetary donations to Jennifer and Jim Klein, who have been host parents to Stars players for many years now.  Jennifer and Jim have had to deal with some pretty serious heath issues the past couple of years, so they could certainly use the assistance from #StarsNation.  So please, bring some extra cash to the game Tuesday night and give back to some Stars fans who really need our help.

Go Stars.
