Congrats to Keegan Ward

Quick article to report some news that was tweeted this evening by Lincoln Stars forward Keegan Ward.

Keegan Ward has committed to play his collegiate hockey at Northern Michigan University.  Click here to read the tweet.

Although he didn't mention it in his tweet, I assume Keegan will enroll at Northern Michigan the fall of 2015 or 2016.  NMU is located in Marquette, Michigan (upper peninsula area).  The NMU Wildcats play in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).

Ward will begin his second season with the Lincoln Stars in 2014-15.  In limited action last season, Keegan scored 3 points (1g, 2a) and accumulated 68 penalty minutes in 25 games for the Stars.

Former Stars forward Dominik Shine just completed his freshman season at Northern Michigan.  Current Stars defenseman Connor Frantti has committed to play at NMU, also.

Congrats to Keegan!  It's obvious that he loves to play the physical game, but I'm hoping we see more of a well-rounded game from Keegan in 2014-15.  Getting more playing time in this upcoming season should help with that.
