We're getting closer to the home opener on Friday night at the IceBox!  Quick blog post here to get your input.  Stars radio announcer Mike Melbye and myself thought it would be a good idea to reach out to the fans and find out who they think will score the first goal of the season.  Check out the poll question below.  Vote away!

For those interested, here are the players to score the first goal of the season so far:

1996 Ryan Bencurik
1997 Nick Fohr
1998 Chris Fournier
1999 Grant Potulny
2000 Chris Fournier
2001 John Snowden
2002 David Backes
2003 Brent Borgen
2004 Brock Trotter
2005 Chris Vande Velde
2006 Danny Baco
2007 Ryan Kretzer
2008 Chris Forfar
2009 Andrew O'Leary
2010 John McCarron

Danny Baco's goal in 2006 was the fastest to start a season 2:43 into the 1st period of the 1st game. In 2003 it took the longest for the team to get their first goal - Brent Borgen scored at 13:09 of the 3rd period of the 2nd game of the season.

Hahahaha! You know, I almost put him and Nick on the list, Shane. I guess I'll have egg on my face if Bitz does get a goal Friday night somehow!
