Vinni Lettieri scored a hat trick to lead the Lincoln Stars to a 5-2 victory over the Tri-City Storm Friday night in front of another sell out crowd at the IceBox.  Lincoln still has an undefeated record of 8-0-0 in eight games against Tri-City this season.  Friday's tilt at the IceBox was the last regular home game of the 2012-13 season.  The Stars finished the regular season with a 20-9-3 home record.

With the win and the two point, the Stars improved to 38-22-3 (79 points) and are now in third place in the USHL western conference.  The Waterloo Blackhawks, who play tonight (Saturday) and tomorrow in Indiana against the Ice, are in fourth place in the west with 78 points.  Lincoln is 9-3-0 in their last 12 games played.  Click here to view the current USHL standings.

As mentioned above, Vinni Lettieri scored three goals, was +3, and even got into a fight.  He was only one assist away from the Gordie Howe hat trick.  Dominik Shine finished with two points (1g, 1a) and was +3.

Jackson Teichroeb has another strong game as he stopped 33 of 35 shots to record his 17th win of the season.  Teichroeb has won six of his last seven starts for the Stars, and has not given up more than three goals in any of those seven previous games.

I've got a ton of things to do today, including a road trip out to Kearney, so this recap will be short.  I will try to update it tomorrow sometime.

I will try to post updates from the game tonight on the blog Twitter account:  https://twitter.com/blackblueblog

Go Stars.
