Back online

Just a quick note to say I'm back online and all moved into the new house.  I was very happy to hear that the Stars got back on track with the two big road wins this past weekend.  I was able to catch only bits and pieces of both games on the radio, so I don't have a lot to add right now.  Thanks to BT for posting the recap article from the Omaha game.  Big win in their own barn.  It's always nice to win that first game in their new arena.

Later in the week I'll post a weekend preview article for the home game at the IceBox against the Sioux City Musketeers on Friday, and then the road game against the Omaha Lancers on Saturday.  I'm sure a lot of Stars fans will be making a return trip to Ralston for that one.

Don't forget that Friday's home game against Sioux City is "Teddy Bear Toss" night at the IceBox.  Bring a new stuff animal to the game and throw it onto the ice after the first Stars goal.

There's a good chance I may post an article later today if a certain Stars goaltender wins the USHL's weekly goaltender of the week award.  He was certainly deserving.

More later!  Go Stars.

Well, the USHL snubbed the Stars again. The goaltender of the week award was given to Billy Christopoulos of the Des Moines Bucs (second award for him this season).

Bitzer had a better save percentage than Christopoulos, and both of his wins were on the road against better competition than Christopoulos faced.

Cconsidering the good start of the season the Stars have had, they have not had one player win a weekly USHL award. Not one. No respect at all from the league. But what's new.

Would love to hear the USHL's excuse on this one.
