B³ Postgame Recap: Sioux City 2, Lincoln 4

On the strength of a dominating second period, the Lincoln Stars cruised to a 4-2 victory over the visiting Sioux City Musketeers Friday night at the IceBox.  The win was Lincoln's third in a row.

With the win and the two points, the Stars improved to 14-5-1 (29 points) and are tied for second place in the USHL Western Conference with the Sioux Falls Stampede.  The Stars have played two less games than the first place Waterloo Blackhawks and the second place Stampede, so Lincoln has the best winning percentage (.725) in the western conference right now.

Scoring for the Stars tonight was Paul LaDue (PP), Dominik Shine, Will Suter, and Eric Scheid (shorthanded-empty net).  Michael Bitzer stopped 23 of 25 shots to record his third straight win.

I'll update this article with a full recap tomorrow morning when I have more time.  Solid win tonight against a game Sioux City club that didn't play like a last place team.

Big game tomorrow night in Ralston against the Omaha Lancers!  I'll be watching from home, but I hope a lot of Stars fans make the trip up there to root on the good guys.

Go Stars.
