The Lincoln Stars dominated the Sioux City Musketeers tonight at the IceBox with a 5-0 shutout win.  Stars goaltender Michael Bitzer stopped all 23 shots he faced to record his first career USHL shutout.

With the four points this weekend, the Stars moved up to second place in the USHL Western Conference.  Lincoln is now only one point out of first place in the west.  Click here to view the current USHL standings.

Scoring for the Stars tonight was Dominik Shine (two goals), Luke Johnson, (PP), Justin Woods (first career USHL goal), and Eric Scheid.  Shine's first goal, which turned out to be the game winner, was scored while the Stars were shorthanded.

I will update this article with a full recap Sunday morning when I have more time.  Just a dominating effort tonight by the Stars.  Probably the most one-sided game I've seen at the IceBox in a long, long time.  I expected more fight from the Muskies tonight, but they looked absolutely terrible.  Mentally, I'm not sure they ever got off the bus.

The Stars will be back in action on New Year's Eve with a big road game against the Waterloo Black Hawks, the team that knocked Lincoln out of the playoffs last season.  Time for some payback!

Go Stars.
