B³ Postgame Recap: Tri-City 2, Lincoln 3 OT SO

After falling behind 2-0 early in the first period, the Stars scored three straight goals, including the overtime shootout winner, to beat the visiting Tri-City Storm by a score of 3-2.

With the win, the Stars improved to 3-0-0, and are still the only remaining undefeated team in the USHL Western Conference.  Lincoln is also tied for first place in the west.

Scoring in regulation tonight for the Stars was Zach Frye and Will Suter.  After a scoreless overtime period, the only player to score for either team after six shootout rounds was Stars forward Brent Wold.

Jackson Teichroeb, who was the player of the game in my opinion, struggled a bit early but then stood on his head and stopped 26 of 28 shots to record his second win of the season.  Teichroeb also stopped ALL six Tri-City shooters in the overtime shootout.

I will update this article with a full recap tomorrow (Saturday) morning when I have more time.  I'll also post pictures from the game tomorrow morning as well, so make sure you remember to stop by and check that out.

The Stars will take on the same Tri-City Storm tomorrow night, this time the game will be in Kearney, NE.  I hope to see a lot of Stars fans there!

Amazing atmosphere once again at the IceBox tonight.  It felt like a playoff game.

I'm going to post video of the entire shootout below, thanks to a friend of the blog.  The video is over five minutes long, but it's worth the wait to see Brent Wold's overtime game-winner.  Wold's shootout move was filthy.

Go Stars!
