^Stars all alone in first place!

The Des Moines Buccaneers roared back from a 0-3 deficit against the Lincoln Stars tonight to force overtime, but it was the Stars who prevailed in the shootout to win the game by a score of 4-3.  Click here to view the Pointstreak boxscore.

With the big road win and the two points, the Stars improved to 36-18-4 (76 points) and are in sole possession of first place in the USHL Western Conference for the first time since late January of this year.  Click here to view the current USHL standings.

Kevin Roy scored two goals tonight (his 51st and 52nd of the season), and was the only player on either team to score in the shootout.  With the two points tonight, Roy now has a total of 100 points (52g, 48a) with two games remaining in the regular season.  Jared Hanson scored the other regulation goal for the Stars tonight.  Charles Williams earned the win tonight and went 6-0-0 against his former team this season.

I will try to update this article tomorrow with a full recap.  I'll also post video highlights from the game courtesy of Scott Thompson and his DMBucshighlights YouTube page.

Enjoy the win tonight, folks!

Go Stars.
