Congrats to Jared Hanson!

I learned about this news last night, but waited to post the article until it was announced officially by the Lincoln Stars.

Congrats to Stars forward Jared Hanson who recently committed to play hockey for the Colorado College Tigers.  Click here to read the announcement from the official Lincoln Stars website.  Click here to read the announcement from the USHL.com website.

Click here  and here to read a couple of newspaper articles from Hanson's home state of Alaska.

Through 44 games this season for the Stars, Jared has accumulated 43 points (22g, 21a), is +27, with 53 penalty minutes, and four game-winning goals.  Last season, Hanson scored 24 points (9g, 15a) in 53 games for Lincoln.

Without a doubt, Hanson would get my vote as the most improved player on the Stars this season, as the numbers posted above prove out.  What I really enjoy most about watching Hanson play is the size of his heart.  He's not the biggest player on the ice, but he "plays big."  He's fearless with or without the puck.  He's not afraid of getting his nose dirty in the corners, and drives hard to the net on each shift.

Jared also as the knack of scoring clutch, timely goals.  He plays his best in big games.  I'm not sure what else you could ask from a player than that.

Congrats once again to Jared on his commitment to CC!  Very well deserved.
