B³ Postgame Recap 3/23: Dubuque 1, Lincoln 3

The Lincoln Stars won their sixth straight (season high) tonight with a very impressive 3-2 victory over the Dubuque Fighting Saints.  Click here to view the Pointstreak boxscore.

Scoring goals for Lincoln tonight was Dominik Shine, Luke Johnson, and Kevin Roy.  Shine finished with three points (1g, 2a), Johnson with two points (1g, 1a), and Roy also with two points (1g, 1a).

Stars goaltender Charles Williams stood on his head against the Saints and stopped 23 of 24 shots to record his 16th win of the season.  Williams has won five straight starts for Lincoln, and has a record of 16-3-3 on the season.

I'm going to try to update this article tomorrow sometime with a full recap.  Outstanding effort tonight by the black and blue against a VERY good Dubuque team.  It definitely felt like a playoff game tonight at the IceBox.

The first place Omaha Lancers lost 5-1 to the Tri-City Storm tonight, so the Stars are now only one point behind the Lancers in the western conference standings.  Omaha does not play the rest of this weekend, so that means if the Stars can beat the SC Musketeers tomorrow evening at the IceBox, Lincoln will leapfrog the Lancers in the standings and be all alone in first place.  Click here to view the current USHL standings.

Huge game tomorrow night at the IceBox, so if you don't have your them tomorrow as soon as the ticket office opens!

Go Stars.
