Dominik Shine named USHL Offensive Player of the Week

Lincoln Stars forward Dominik Shine was named "CCM USHL Offensive Player of the Week" by the USHL this afternoon.  Click here to read the official USHL press release.  Here's an excerpt from the article:

Shine scored eight points (4g, 4a) over three games to help the Stars earn five of six points in the standings.  He recorded a USHL career high five points (2g, 3a) in Tuesday’s 6-3 victory over Tri-City, which also equaled a USHL season high for points in a game.  The 18-year-old then collected three points (2g, 1a) in the 4-3 shootout win against Youngstown on Friday.  It extended his point streak to eight games and was the fourth time in a span of five contests that he had a multi-point game.

Shine has been limited to 16 games this season due to injury but has put up 18 points (8g, 10a).  The third-year USHL forward from Pinckney, Michigan has registered 75 points (35g, 40a) in 122 career games.

Congrats to Dominik!  Very well deserved.  Shine has come back with a vengeance since returning to the lineup after having knee surgery earlier this season.  After going scoreless in his first three games back after surgery, Shine scored 16 points (7g, 9A) in the following eight games.

You could tell Shine was working on improving his stamina early on, and it was just a matter of time before he started racking up the points again.  Shine and forward Kevin Roy have teamed up recently on the same line to score an impressive amount of points.  Nice to see Shine's hard work, both on and off the ice (rehab), get rewarded.

very well deserved honor for Dominik! this is how I envisioned him playing this year. I wonder how well he might have been playing if he hadn't missed so many games?
