B³ Postgame Recap 12/9: Lincoln 5, Sioux Falls 2

The Lincoln Stars started their three-games in three-nights weekend with an impressive 5-2 road victory over the Sioux Falls Stampede tonight.  The win snapped the Stars' two-game losing streak.

With the win, the Stars improved to 13-7-1 (27 points) and are in second place in the USHL Western Conference.  Lincoln is only one point behind the Omaha Lancers (28 points), who are in first place.  The Stars have two games in hand over the Lancers, however.

Scoring for the Stars tonight was Kevin Roy, Markus McCrea (2), Colton Saucerman (PP), and Ralfs Freibergs.  Kevin Roy finished the game as the leading scorer with 3 points (1g, 2a).

Stars goaltender Charles Williams stopped 19 of 21 shots to record the win, his third of the season and his second against the Sioux Falls Stampede.  Stars handily outshot the Stampede, 40-21 overall.  Lincoln went 1-for-2 on the powerplay, while Sioux Falls finished 1-for-1 with the man advantage.

Stars are back at the IceBox tomorrow (Saturday) night to face the Waterloo Blackhawks.  Be there, and be loud!
