Congrats to Mike McKee!

Per the Lincoln Stars' Facebook page, defenseman Mike McKee has committed to play his collegiate hockey at Western Michigan University, which is located in Kalamazoo, MI.  The announcement on the Stars' Facebook page did not mention when McKee would start at WMU, but I assume it will be for the fall of 2012.  Click here and here to read more.

Originally from Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, McKee is a 6'4", 230 pound defenseman born in 1993.  Through 9 games so far this season with Lincoln, McKee has 5 points (1g, 4a), is +5, and has accumulated 24 penalty minutes.  He is the Stars' leading scorer at the defenseman position.

Former Lincoln Stars forward J.J. Crew is currently a senior on the Western Michigan Broncos hockey team.  Former Stars forward Austin Hervey is committed to play for WMU next season also.

Before arriving in Lincoln, McKee had been committed to play for Northeastern University, but he decommitted recently from what I have read online.

Congrats to "Big" Mike McKee!  Well deserved.
