Kevin Roy named USHL Offensive Player of the Week

Lincoln Stars forward Kevin Roy was named "CCM USHL Offensive Player of the Week" by the USHL this afternoon.  Click here to read the official USHL press release.  Here's an excerpt from the article:

Roy scored four points (3g, 1a) as the Stars picked up a pair of weekend victories.  After being held scoreless through his first three USHL games, Roy contributed to all four goals in the 4-1 victory vs. Sioux City on Saturday.  The 18-year-old assisted on a first-period goal for the Stars before taking over in the third period with three consecutive goals to record the “natural hat trick”.  His first goal of the period was the first USHL goal for the native of Lac Beauport, Quebec and proved to be the game-winner.  Roy also recorded a game high seven shots on goal.  The rookie forward was selected by the Stars in the first round (8th overall) of the 2011 USHL Entry Draft.  He is committed to play collegiate hockey at Brown University.

Congrats to Kevin!  After going pointless in the first three games of the season, Roy broke out in a big way this past Saturday night to help the Stars win their second game in a row.  Hopefully this is the first of many offensive awards for Kevin.
