Alaska Invasion

Thanks to the blog reader who brought these two articles to my attention.  I appreciate it!  If you run across any stories out there related to the Stars and you'd like to share them on the blog, please email me at lincolnstarshockey@gmail.com.

A couple of very interesting articles below about two Alaska natives who look to play a big offensive role for the Lincoln Stars next season.  The one player's name should be familiar to most fans, while the other player's name might be new to some out there.

Click here to read the article from the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman about returning forward Jared Hanson.

Click here to read the article also from the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman about incoming forward Matt Friese.

I thought both articles were very well done by reporter Jeremiah Bartz, despite the butchering of Ryan Dzingel's last name. :)

Really excited to see these two on the same line in Lincoln, if the coaches decide to put them together.  Like the one article above mentioned, Hanson and Friese were paired together on the same line during tryouts, and they looked dominant.  Very fast, very skilled.  I think Hanson is more inclined to get his nose dirty and get more physical than Friese, but I thought they both complimented each other's skill set very well.

Hanson and Friese are just two of four players from the state of Alaska who will play a prominent role on the Stars' roster this upcoming season.  The other two Alaska natives are returning defenseman Dax Lauwers (Anchorage, AK), and incoming forward Ryan Cole (also from Anchorage).
