Congratulations to Brent Tate!

According to the Lincoln Stars website, Stars forward (and fan favorite) Brent Tate has committed to play collegiate hockey for Bowling Green University, starting the fall of 2012.  Click here to read the press release from the USHL.

Last season for Lincoln, Tate was one of the most improved players on the team, as he scored 26 points (10g, 16a) in 42 games played, was +8, and added 144 penalty minutes.  Tate started the 2010-11 season as an alternate captain, and then later was named one of two captains of the team after Josh Berge was injured.  I would assume you'll see Brent wearing the "C" again next season for the Stars.

So, congratulations to Brent Tate!  I had the opportunity to talk with Brent a few times at the tryouts last month in Minneapolis, and I could tell the guy has a good head on his shoulders.  Very nice kid.  We wish him the best at Bowling Green next year.
