Congrats to Ryan Dzingel!

A big congratulations go out to former Lincoln Stars forward Ryan Dzingel on being drafted by the Ottawa Senators at the 2011 NHL Entry draft this past Saturday.  Ryan was selected in the seventh round, 204th overall.  Click here and here to read more.  Ottawa Senators scout Bob Janecyk stated after the draft that , "He (Dzingel) has smart hockey sense, and he's a skilled guy," Janecyk said. "He could be a home run."

A number of former Stars have played for the Sens over the past few years including Josh Langfeld, Brandon Bochenski, Brian Lee, and Erik Condra.

Ryan will begin his freshman season this fall for the Ohio State University Buckeyes hockey program.

Congrats once again to Ryan Dzingel!  Well deserved!

wonder if the Senators scout Bob Janecyk is any relation to goalie Adam Janecyk who will be at the development camp this weekend? didn't Adam play for Sioux City a couple years ago?
