Interesting that the top three picks have all been forwards, and not big guys at that.

Maybe a clue for the offensive philosophy for the next season? Small and quick? Hrm..

The Stars have drafted six players thus far....all are forwards. Wow.

From the Lincoln Stars Facebook page:

"Prior to draft, Stars trade their 4th round pick to the Fargo Force for Brandon Carlson (defenseman) and a 5th round draft pick. Carlson played 32 games for the Force in 2010-11."

Carlson scored 4 points in 32 games played, was -1, and accumulated 59 PIM's for Fargo.

5 and a half hours later, the Stars have drafted a total of 15 players, and picked up one other player in a trade.

Here's the breakdown:

10 forwards
5 defensemen (that includes Brandon Carlson)
1 goaltender

The lone goaltender pick is an interesting one. I'll touch on that subject later.
