Congrats to Kevin Murdock!

Congrats to Stars goaltender Kevin Murdock for his recent commitment to play collegiate hockey for Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste Marie, MI.  This news was released today on the official Lincoln Stars website and on the USHL website.

This past season for the Stars, Doc finished with an impressive 29-15-4 record, a 2.91 goals against average, and a .907 save percentage.  His 29 regular season wins was second most in the entire USHL.  In my opinion, he was the team MVP this season, and was a big reason why the Stars were able to rebound from where they were in 2009-10.

In over three seasons with Lincoln, Murdock accumulated a record of 54-31-9, a goals against average of 2.69, and a save percentage of .910.  His 54 regular season wins is third most in the history of the Stars franchise, behind Wayne Russell and Jean-Philippe Lamoureux.  Murdock appeared in 102 games over three seasons with Lincoln, which is second most all-time behind JP Lamoureux.

Congrats to Kevin!  In my mind, one of the best goaltenders to ever play in Lincoln.  He will be missed.

kind of quiet here these days. but Yeti definitely deserves a break after all of his hard work during the season. kind of odd to think we could still be going to the Ice Box in this hot weather we've been getting, haha. i am not trying to start any rumors or anything, but i know we talked about which players will be returning.. im just wondering if anyone thinks there will be any changes to the coaching staff... are we expecting Chad Johnson, Jimmy, and Andy all to return next year?

I wish I had something to blog about, lincolnfan. Just not a lot going on right now. The third round of the USHL playoffs are wrapping up. The Green Bay Gamblers beat the Cedar Rapids Roughriders today and won that series, 3-1. Dubuque and Sioux Falls play tonight, and the Fighting Saints can move on to the finals against GB if they win.

As far as the coaching staff goes, I haven't heard anything on my end about any changes, so I expect all to return next season. I'm not big on rumors on my blog, so we'll just move on from that.

I have a couple of articles in the works this week, so stay tuned for those. I'll update the B³ USHL playoff prediction contest, and I have a a grab-bag article planned also.

I hope everyone is enjoying the warmer temperatures!
