B³ Postgame Recap 4/16: Lincoln 2, Fargo 4

The 2010-11 season ended tonight for the Lincoln Stars as the Fargo Force beat the Stars by a score of 4-2, and swept the best-of-three series against Lincoln, winning 2-0.  Click here to view the Pointstreak boxscore.  With the loss to the Force, the Stars are now winless in five straight playoff games against Fargo dating back two seasons.  The Force broke a 2-2 tie with less than nine minutes remaining in the third period to pull ahead, and added an empty-net goal with 8 seconds remaining to finish the scoring at 4-2.

It's hard to believe it's over.  Very tough way to end the season, but we are all very proud of our Stars here in Lincoln.  I thought the Stars deserved a better fate that what was dealt to them, but that's how it goes sometimes.  I want to thank each and every player on the roster for busting their ass and sacrificing so much for our entertainment this season.  Their effort will not be forgotten.  I also would like to thank all of the player parents for sending their sons to Lincoln.  It was a pleasure watching them this season, and they will always be a part of our extended Stars family.

Go Stars.

DANG!! I too cannot believe that the year is over already. Seems like this season went by A LOT quicker than most, and kind of a downer to end it that way and not get a chance to send the guys off the ice one more time at The Box.

I'm with you Yeti, thanks to all of the guys from this years team and good luck to all of them as they move on.

And big props to Yeti for the blog all season long!!

This was an extremely fun season and the early out can never change that. Proud of each & every one of these guys and wish them much success in their futures!! Cannot wait to see many of them back at the Ice Box this fall!

Thanks Yeti for all the coverage again this season. As one of many fans who love this team - your hard work & dedication in covering the Stars is much appreciated!

I say thank you Yeti and all the Star's amazing fans for all the support you gave the team this year. You really are the best fans in the USHL.
I will always have a soft place in my heart for your team and I will follow you through the years. It was a great place for my Grandson Eric Scheid to play. He had super wonderful people to stay with. It was a great year for him. So again thanks for everything and best of luck in the coming years. Thanks also for the coaching staff. They did a good job this year.
