The "Road Trip from Hell"

This week, the Lincoln Stars depart on one of the most brutal road trips they'll experience this season when they take on the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Wednesday night, then the Indiana Ice on Friday night, then finally the Youngstown Phantoms on Saturday night. I've included a cropped picture I took from Google Maps which shows a route similar to what the Stars may take. The picture below isn't the greatest, so click here if you want to see a detailed photo, or click the picture below to see an exploded view.

If you're keeping track at home, here are the numbers (according to Google Maps):

Lincoln, NE to Muskegon, MI: 700 miles - 11 hours
Muskegon, MI to Indianapolis, IN: 260 miles - 5 hours
Indianapolis, IN to Youngstown, OH: 350 miles - 6 hours
Youngstown, OH to Lincoln, NE: 900 miles - 15 miles

Round trip totals: 2210 miles - 37 hours

So you think the life of a junior hockey player/coach is glamorous? Now that's a hockey road-trip!  I'm not sure I'd ever want to step foot in a bus again after a trek like that.

I'll highlight the upcoming Muskegon game tomorrow on the blog. Stay tuned for that.  Go Stars.

will we be chatting live on Wednesday?

Not sure yet, Mac. The game against the Lumberjacks starts at 6:15pm our time. That's a little earlier than normal. I'd like to, but it depends on work and a lot of other things.
