B³ Postgame Recap 2/5: Sioux Falls 3, Lincoln 6

It's a four point weekend!  w00t!!

The Lincoln Stars used a strong third period effort to beat the Sioux Falls Stampede for the second straight night at the IceBox, this time by a score of 6-3.  Click here to view the Pointstreak boxscore.  The Stars outscored the 'Pede 4-1 in the third period to cruise to the victory in front of another sellout crowd at home.  With the win tonight, and losses by both the Tri-City Storm and the Sioux City Musketeers, the Stars have jumped both of those teams in the standings, and are now in 6th place in the USHL Western Conference.  The Stars have one game in hand over TC, and two games in hand over Sioux City.

I'll update this article tomorrow morning with a full recap (I promise!).  For right now, I'd really like to hear from the fans out there.  How big were these two wins?  What players stood out this weekend?  What were some of the keys to victory these past two games?

In his post-game interview with radio announcer Mike Melbye, Stars Head Coach Chad Johnson said that a trade will likely be made as early as tonight, since the USHL trade deadline is Sunday, February 6th.  Johnson hinted that the Stars need a defenseman, so we'll have to wait and see who the Stars pick up.  As soon as I know anything about that trade, or others, I'll post it here on the blog.

A well deserved four points!  Congrats to all of the Stars players, and coaches.  They certainly deserve it.

Go Stars.

Prapavessis is playing great as of lately. I hope he keeps it up he really does show he wants to make the playoffs. I'm sure all of our players do but he is working a little harder in my opinion and it shows.

These last two games should give the Stars more confidence. Their play in the third period was great. Their fans are a big asset to them. Seeing them play in person last weekend was so much fun. The place jumps. It's a great atmosphere to play hockey. Go Stars.

Excellent work in the third period last night. The crowd was very good staying with the guys all night. Let's keep it going on the road trip and start collecting points in bunches.
