Matt Bartkowski to make NHL debut tonight

Just a quick note, former Stars defenseman Matt Bartkowski will be making his NHL regular season debut for the Boston Bruins tonight as the B's face off against the Pittsburgh Penguins, in Pittsburgh, PA.  As some of you know, Pittsburgh is Bart's hometown, so I'm sure this will be a very special night for him, with many friends and family in attendance.

Click here and here to read articles from about Bartkowski's anticipated debut with the Bruins tonight.  If you are interested, you can watch the game on Versus tonight, starting at 6:30pm CST.

Bart was one of my favorite players back in the day, so I will definitely be watching.  Here's a video of Matt talking to the media about his upcoming hometown debut with the B's:

Bart is wearing #43 tonight. Versus had a really nice interview with him during the first intermission.

Eddie Olczyk (Versus studio guy) actually mentioned Bart playing for Lincoln after the interview as well. Very cool!

Eddie Olczyk is a regular on Versus in the studio and at games and he also does hockey games on NBC such as the Winter Classic.

Eddie usually tries to get plugs in for the USHL any chance he gets. His son, Tommy O., currently plays for Sioux City and he had another son (Eddie O. Jr) that played for Sioux City and Waterloo.

Oh, guess I should mention that Matt is now team mates with a former Sioux City player... Steven Kampfer #47.
