B³ Pregame Report: Lincoln Stars vs. Sioux Falls Stampede

Unfortunately, this is going to be a very brief pregame report.  BT and myself have both been pretty busy the past couple of days, and we haven't had a lot of free time to devote to the blog.  I apologize for that.

Friday night, the Stars will travel north to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to take on the Stampede.  The puck will drop at 7:05pm.  You can listen online by clicking here, or watch the game via B2 Networks at this link.

The Stampede currently find themselves in fourth place in the USHL Western Conference with a 4-2 record (8 points).  As mentioned by BT in his most recent USHL power rankings article, the Stampede, despite their winning record, have given up more goals than they have scored this season.  In six games, the 'Pede have scored 16 times, and have given up 19 goals.  Sioux Falls are 2-0 at home so far this season.  The Stampede are on a bit of hot streak right now, having won three games in a row coming into Friday night's game against the Stars.  The Stampede are tied for last place in penalty kill percentage (80%), which bodes well for the Stars who are leading the USHL in powerplay percentage (24%).

The Stars will looking to put up back-to-back wins for the first time this season Friday night against Sioux Falls.  Lincoln is currently 2-4 (4 points) and tied for last place in the USHL Western Conference.  The Stars are coming off a hard-fought 3-1 home victory over the Chicago Steel on 10/23.  Stars forward Ryan Dzingel leads the Stars in points with 11 (5g, 6a) in only six games.  Dzingel has scored at least one point in every game so far this season for Lincoln.  This will be the lone game the Stars will play this weekend.

We'll be blogging/chatting live for this game, so check back here Friday evening to join in on the fun.  I'll post the live chat article sometime Friday afternoon.

Go Stars.

Yeti

I cannot believe you are apologizing for the blog. I would think we all realize you have other things to do than the blog. Keep up the good work.

Hopefully, you will have lots of good stuff to write about later this weekend.

LOL, I love the Hanson brothers in Slapshot. When they play the National Anthem at the Ice Box, I'm always thinking of the scene - "I'm trying to listen to the--song!"
