Lincoln Stars Blueline Booster Club

For those unaware, the Lincoln Stars Blueline Booster Club is a group of hockey fans devoted to supporting the players on the Stars, the Stars organization, and youth hockey in general in the city of Lincoln.  I encourage all of you to check out their website and read about all of the great events they hold throughout the season.  Click here to visit the BLBC website.

Mrs. Yeti and myself recently joined the BLBC and we are both looking forward to being a part of a great group of people who bleed black and blue.  How do you join such a fantastic group of hockey-crazed fanatics?  Click here to print out a BLBC membership form and send it in.  It's that easy.  Annual membership dues are $15 for an individual, or $25 for a family.  That's it.  For the price of two Stars tickets to one game, you and your family can be a part of the BLBC and participate in all of the events and activities the BLBC holds during the year.  Some of those events include:
  • Meet the Stars Night
  • Bowl with the Lincoln Stars
  • Bus trips to away games
  • Monthly membership meetings
Click here to read more about the BLBC.

I've only highlighted a small portion of what the BLBC does.  I know we have a number of blog readers who have been BLBC members for a long time, so I will let them comment about the history of the BLBC and any other events they would like to mention.  I am very much looking forward to attending my first BLBC membership meeting this Tuesday when new assistant coach Andy Schneider will be the guest speaker.  I would encourage all of my blog readers who are interested in the BLBC to click on the links above and join in on the fun.  This is a great way to show your support of the best junior hockey organization in the USA.  Go Stars.

Coach Johnson wants to leave Lincoln to go back to Fargo as head coach... supposedly his brother is leaving for some college job. Will McGroarty get his old job back?

Anon,

This rumor has been floating around the internet as of late. Do you have any proof that this is going to occur? I've received some emails regarding this, but again, I've seen nothing online that would lead me to believe it's true. If you have a credible source, I'd like to hear who/what it is.

Thanks to Yeti for the nice comments about the BlueLine Booster Club. I truly is a great organization that is all about hockey. Each month we have a speaker and when the season begins we will have at least 3 players at each meeting. Membership to the club is not required to attend our monthly meetings. Contrary to popular belief, being a member does not mean you will be assigned any tasks.

This year will will do the first ever BBQ with the Stars. This will take place on Sunday, 19 Sep and it is a member only event. You need to be a member to attend. Come to the meeting tonight and fill out a membership form so you can get the first look at the 2010/2011 Stars team. The BLBC is providing the burgers and dogs and the park has horshoes, volleyball and a playground for the kids.

Our club is a family oriented club and always welcome the kids. You can sign your kids up for our Jr. Booster club and they will receive a t-shirt and a couple of opportunities to have events with the players. They will even get a ride on the zamboni.

Take a minute to check us out. I'm sure you won't be disappointed, especially for only $25 per year.

Zebra,

Thanks for the comment and the information about the BLBC. I appreciate it. I'm looking forward to my first meeting tonight! I'm hoping that this article, and the information you provided, will encourage other blog readers to become members of the BLBC. If you're a hard core Stars fan, what better way to show your support!
