Stars to unveil new website tomorrow (9/1)

9/1 Update:  The new site is up!  Check it out by clicking on the link below.  It looks great!!

I've been holding on to this information for awhile now, but I thought I'd let the fans know that the Lincoln Stars will unveil their new, updated website tomorrow (Wednesday, September 1st).

Click here to view the official Lincoln Stars website.

I'm really interested to see what the new website will look like.  I'm guessing that they will incorporate a new team slogan into the new website also.  The Stars website really needed an overhaul, so this news was good to hear.  Keep checking the official Stars website the next few days to see the changes they made.  Go Stars!

Thank goodness, LONG overdue, hopefully its something good.

Thanks for the posting the information. Will they have Sam's name spelled correctly :-)

Again, from what I hear...it should look similar to what the Lancers, Muskies, and Bucs sites look like. The same company that designed those sites designed the Stars site.

Thats good news. Not to dimisih the efforts of the keepers of the site in the past as I know first hand how much work that can be, but it will be nice to have something new and updated.

Now if we could then just buy Stars gear online, we'd be all set!!

The real question is: Will the stars organization do a better job about actually updating their new website, or is the Black and Blue going to continue to be the only way to get information about the team? The other teams sites mentioned above look nice, but are they up to date because the company running them is really good, or because those teams are diligent about providing them with new content? Just a thought.

the new site allows updates as simple as sending an email.

Crazy Carl -

if i'm not mistaken, i believe it was mentioned earlier that this company is basically setting up the website for the Stars, but it will be the responsibility of the Stars organization to update it once it's all built. so i hate to be negative, but i'm a little worried that it may get neglected or not get updated with new content very often. oh well, i guess we'll wait and see..

sorry, you can ignore the first part of my comment as i misread your comment the first time.

"Lincoln Stars: Founded 1996, and still living there."

The new website is up and running - sort of like it.

Looks like the players have been given numbers. Click on "Team" then "Players."

No MacMillan on the list, but I'm happy to see Guzik. I had heard he was in town already going to high school. Can't wait to see him play.

Anon @ 10:44am:

I just clicked on the link I posted above twice, and each time it went directly to the new website. Not sure why you can't get through.

New website looks pretty nice. I hope to see it REGULARLY UPDATED *hint* during the season. (Just throwing that out there in case someone from the Stars org is reading this).

The stars site won't have to go through a third party to upate. So since everything will be done internally it should be easier to keep it upadted.

If you're still getting the old website try holding down the SHIFT key and clicking the REFRESH button on the browser tool bar.

Worth a try anyway.

Your head coach is leaving. You heard it here first.

Anonymous said...

Which Johnson are you referring to? Steve???

Anonymous said...

I heard Steve is leaving Fargo

BellTolls said...

Anonymous at 9:37 is hinting that Steve is leaving Fargo to be a college assistant and that Chad will follow along. If so, that's a really raw deal. It's unfair to call our head coach out on something that hasn't even happened. If it does, that's a different story.

i haven't heard any rumors (but i'm always out of the loop) so i'm not going to really assume anything. however, i will say that at least a couple of times in the past, some of the "Anonymous" posts on here turned out to be true. i guess time will tell, but i can't see a USHL coach leaving now, as the season begins in less than a month, and preseason games coming up very soon. unless of course you mean they're leaving after this coming season, or something like that.

Poapst left the Steel earlier in the week...time is usually not an issue with these things.

Tim

According to the kearney hub article....Matt Green is now one of the goalies practicing with the Storm

Yeah, I saw that. The Storm released their preseason roster this past week, and I noticed that he was on it. The Storm have five goaltenders on that roster that are fighting for two roster spots. Hopefully Green can earn a spot.

Hopefully the ruhmors that chad is following him this year turn out not to be true.
