Schedule change

Just noticed this posted on the official Lincoln Stars website:
Stars Re-Schedule Home Game vs. Sioux City
Due a conflict with UNL Men's Basketball, the Stars have re-scheduled their game on Tuesday, January 18th vs. Sioux City Musketeers to Wednesday, January 19th.  Click here for an updated schedule.

Good news.  The less games that Stars fans have to battle the UNL basketball crowds, and the ensuing parking nightmare, the better.

Guessing they changed the original date from the 18th to the 19th? I noticed that too, glad they are being proactive and not waiting til the last minute.

Good catch. I just copied and pasted what was posted on the Stars website. Looks like an error on their part. Yes, January 18th is a Tuesday, and the 19th is a Wednesday.

Sweet. My weekends start on Thursdays so that works out good. I can hit it hard that game.

A KOLN sports story this evening reported consideration is being given to moving volleyball to the Devaney, when basketball relocates to the Haymarket arena. Guess we will always be battling crowds from one activity or another.

Yeti, you mentioned a while back posting some other articles to pass the summer (such as you know you are a Stars fan when...etc.) I know you deserve a break, but August seems to drag when waiting for hockey to begin, so it would be nice to see that :) Another possible topic: what would people want to see in the home opener video this year or what was impressive from past videos. This is the 15th season for Stars hockey, so maybe it will have a more retrospective nature this year.

Six weeks from today - Fall Classic! Go Stars!!

Has anyone heard the rumor that Coach Fouts has left the Stars coaching staff? I hope this is just that-a rumor.

Anon @ 12:31pm,

I have not heard anything like that on my end. Is there something you want to expand on? More about what you heard, and from whom?

i have not heard the rumor either.. i really hope it is just a rumor. if Nick Fouts did leave the Stars coaching staff, it would be a major loss. the Stars have had a relatively young coaching staff, but being that Fouts is just in his 20s and actually played for the Stars at one time, i think he's been able to connect with the players in a way that the other coaches can't. guess we'll just have to wait and see if it is just a rumor or if there's any truth to it...

i agree that we dont want to lose foutsy... it would not be good for the young guys as they can look to him for a good role model.
and as far as the volleyball moving to the BOB...
i can see it so that UNL can get that 3 bucks a car for parking!!! its a business after all and not a sport anymore.

Stars website just posted an article on their main page. The rumors that Fouts is leaving are true. Bummer, anybody have any guesses on who'll replacfe him?
