Congrats to Dax Lauwers!

As rumored, Stars defenseman Dax Lauwers has recently committed to play hockey for Army, according to Chris Heisenberg's 2010 NCAA Hockey Recruit Page.  Like BellTolls mentioned previously, this committment is the first from a member of the Lincoln Stars since the season started.  It is unknown if Dax will start at Army in the Fall of 2010, or 2011.  Through 42 games this season for the Stars, the native of Anchorage, AK has accumulated 2 assists, 42 penalty minutes, 43 shots on goal, and a +1 rating.  Despite the Stars record, Dax is one of only two Stars on the team (and the only defenseman) to have a plus rating.  Dax is a very solid, steady stay-at-home defenseman who does his job very well.  Similar to former Stars defenseman Ross Henry, Dax isn't flashy, but he doesn't need to be to get the job done.

Congrats to Dax!  Go Army!  Hooah!

He by far is our best D guy. It would be nice if he could stay another year.

Yeti....did you notice today that Matt Bartkowsi's rights were traded from the Florida Panthers to the Boston Bruins?

Robbie,

Yes, I did see that. I was going to mention it in the upcoming weekend preview. Stay tuned for that.

Congrats Dax, being compared with Ross Henry is high praise and deserved.

Jofa,

Ross was definetly one of the best at his position. It's impossible to "compare" another defenseman to Ross, because he was one of the best ever, in my opinion. I guess my comparison was more related to their style of play. Not flashy, not a ton of points, but solid defensively. They don't get a lot of attention or praise, because they don't stand out, but they deserve it.
