B³ Post-Game Recap 3/17: Des Moines 6, Lincoln 4

I wish I had more time to devote to this recap today, so unfortunately this is going to be very, very brief.  The Lincoln Stars lost their seventh straight home game, 6-4 to the Des Moines Buccaneers.  The Stars outshot the Bucs 43-28 in the losing effort.  Scoring goals for Lincoln was Andrew Ammon, Ryan Dzingel, John McCarron, and Ben Lynch.  After falling behind 4-2 going into the third period, the Stars stormed back to tie the game at 4-4.  However, costly turnovers doomed the Stars late in the third period as Des Moines scored two in the final period to coast to the 6-4 victory.  With the loss, the Stars dropped to 14-32-8 (36 points).

The Stars return to the IceBox this weekend for a Friday night game against the Fargo Force, and then a Saturday tilt against Team USA U-17.  I will try to post a weekend preview article sometime later tonight.

Note:  Thanks to StarsHcky for providing this link which has some more information about former Stars defenseman Jake Newton signing with the NHL Anaheim Ducks.  Click here to read the article.  There is also video of Newt talking about his signing.  Pretty cool!  Congrats, Newt!

I forgot to mention this in the article, but I saw a mysterious player walking around with the scratches (Berge, Tate) last night. This mystery player was very tall, and skinny. His name wasn't announced with the scratches, so I have no clue who it was.

After the game, down by the locker room, I thought I heard Tate tell someone it was "Mickey" (?) and that he'd been "Skating with us..."

Really don't know what to think of the game overall. But do know that I had fun, i guess thats what matters.
Des Moines first goal looked like it came off the stick of our own players.
Coreau getting pulled, boy, he was not happy about that. Was confused on putting him back in though. Teaching Coreau a lesson in humility or just teasing Green? You decide.
Wasnt happy about the empty net goal at the time, do understand the ruling now. Every day is a school day!
Shine and Hibbs, nice! Gotta love it when the announcer calls for Dr to visitors locker room after a long as it isnt serious.
See ya Friday night.
Go Stars
For the love of the game.....Starfish
