B³ Post-Game Recap 2/13: Lincoln 1, Youngstown 2 OT Shootout

This recap is going to be very brief.  I'm going to spend the day with Mrs. Yeti on this Valentine's Day. :)

Fittingly on St. Valentine's Day eve, the Lincoln Stars lost another heart breaker at home, this time to the Youngstown Phantoms by a score of 2-1 in OT shootout.  Stars goaltender Matt Green played extremely well in regulation and in overtime, stopping 39 of 40 shots.  However in the shootout, Youngstown scored on each of their first four attempts to beat the Stars and give them their first win in eight games.  Stars forward Ryan Dzingel scored the lone goal for the Stars against the Phantoms.  The lone regulation goal for Youngstown came while they were shorthanded two players on a 5-on-3 Stars powerplay (ouch).

The Stars return to action this Friday night at the IceBox when they will take on the Sioux City Musketeers.  On Saturday night, the league-leading Green Bay Gamblers will invade the IceBox.

Note:  I ran across this youtube video today of the Lincoln/Tri-City line brawl from Friday night's game.  Enjoy.  You'll probably want to mute the sound because Nickleback sucks. :)
