Brodie Reid: USHL Offensive Player of the Week

Congrats to Brodie! Great to see him finally break out and have a huge weekend. Reid hasn't had a lot of puck luck go his way so far this season, so it was a just a matter of time before he started finding the back of the net. It was nice to see him wearing the "A" this weekend also, so the coaches must think enough of his leadership abilities to let him wear the "A" temporarily. Reid has proven he can score goals in bunches in the BCHL, so hopefully he'll keep his hot streak going this weekend on the road against Green Bay.

Click here to read the USHL article.

Reid registered five points (4g, 1a) and a plus-four rating as the Lincoln Stars earned a split of two games during the weekend. The 20-year-old forward recorded a hat trick scoring three goals in a span of 11:15 in the third period of Friday’s 8-4 loss to Des Moines. On Saturday, the native of Delta, British Columbia scored the first goal of the game and dished out an assist in the 4-1 win over Waterloo. All four goals scored by Reid were even strength tallies. He is playing in his first USHL season and currently leads the Stars with six goals.

Note: I apologize for the lack of articles this past weekend. I've been extremely busy with stuff, so I haven't had time to sit down and write up any articles. It was great to see the Stars rebound Saturday night with their best, most complete home game so far this season. Props to Jared Coreau for playing a fantastic game against Waterloo. I was really impressed with his play Saturday night, as I thought he looked very calm and collected between the pipes.

I still plan on posting a "Snapshot of the Game" for the two home games this past weekend, so stay tuned for that. I hope to get that done tonight sometime. Again, I apologize for the lack of articles as of late. Work and real life stuff have been keeping me very busy.

Go Stars.

Very good to see Brodie recognized for his outstanding weekend - the honor is well deserved!

Yeti, you need to get your work done - Stars fans need to chat online during the upcoming weekend road games :)

FYI...I'll be out of town for the next couple of days for work, so I won't be near a computer to approve messages. Speaking of that, I've had to delete a number of comments the past few weeks that I deemed insulting and unnecessary. If you want to constructively critisize the coaching, fine. If you just want to insult the players and/or coaches, just don't bother. It's amazing how fast some fans can turn on a coaching staff when they are down. Probably the same fans who were praising the coach when he was doing so well the past few years. I don't get it. That's my rant. I don't like deleting messages, but I'll do it if the person(s) can't make his or her point without ridiculing the coaches or players. They don't deserve that....and this blog isn't going to support it.

Not sure yet about doing another live blog/chat for the Green Bay games this weekend. Depending on how things go this week, I should be able to do it..just not 100% sure right now.
