Stars acquire Pat George

Just checked the Pointstreak trasaction page again, and noticed that the Stars acquired Pat George from the Green Mountain Glades of the Eastern Junior Hockey League. Pat ('91) is a 6'3" 180 pound forward from Messena, NY. In nine games with the Glades this season, Pat has 4 goals, 4 assists, and 35 penalty minutes. You can view his stats here. In 2008-09, Pat played 27 games for the Glades and recorded six points along with 91 penalty minutes.

I know nothing about George, nor do I know a lot about the league (EJHL) he was playing in. The EJHL is a Tier III organization, while the USHL is a Tier I organization. So in terms of overall talent, you could probably say the EJHL is a few steps below the USHL.

Note: Also noted on the Pointstreak transaction page is former Stars defenseman James McNulty traded from Lincoln to the Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

One of the two goals Patrick scored was against Lincoln at the Fall Classic. He must have made a good impression on Coach McGroarty at the time.

Re: Okotoks Oilers - Corbin Knight, who was supposedly on the Stars protected list this summer, played for the Okotoks. He did not plan on leaving that team, but then moved on to Univ of North Dakota this fall, a year early. Stars won't be able to pick up a Canadian player as numbers are now.

The Green Bay website indicates Chartier was acquired for a conditional draft pick and that he is to be in their line-up Friday in game at Sioux City. Enjoyed watching him play hockey here and wish him success at Green Bay.

tzweeb,

The game tonight is in Sioux Falls, and yes...I plan on blogging it live. In fact, I am doing something new tonight that I think everyone will really enjoy. Testing out a new application that I'm excited to try out.

I'll post a quick pregame report later today also.

Brandon,

Go to the game! Live hockey is always better than watching it on the computer, or listening to it on the radio.
