Postgame Report - Lincoln at Sioux Falls 10/30

Final Score: Lincoln 0, Sioux Falls 4

The Stars continued their inconsistent play on the road Friday night when Lincoln dropped a goose egg on the road, and lost 4-0 to the Sioux Falls Stampede. 'Pede goaltender Lino Chimienti stopped all 23 shots taken by the Stars to record his first shutout of the season. Lincoln's penalty kill woes continued, as Sioux Falls scored two powerplay goals in seven opportunities against the Stars. With the loss, the Stars dropped to 4-6 (8 points) on the season, good enough for fifth place in the USHL West Division. Through the first ten games of the season, the Stars are only averaging 2.6 goals per game.

Not much to say about this loss. Ugly, ugly effort. Sioux Falls wanted it more, and it showed. This team is just very inconsistent right now. Last Sunday they go on the road and beat one of the best USHL teams in their own barn, and then they lay a good egg against the 'Pede last night. It's frustrating, but we have to be patient with this bunch.

1ST STAR: Chimienti, Lino (SF)
2ND STAR: Day, Anthony (SF)
3RD STAR: Zombo, Dominic (SF)

The Stars will host the Tri-City Storm Saturday night at the Ice Box. Halloween edition! I'll post a quick pregame report of that game here in a bit.

Go Stars.
