#1 in Attendance...Again

For the third straight season, the Lincoln Stars were the #1 team in the USHL in terms of home attendance. The Stars averaged 4,314 fans for each of the 30 home games this season, which was almost 1,000 higher than the second place team (Green Bay).

Considering the recession, I think we have a lot to be proud about as fans when looking at these numbers. There's a reason why so many players from other teams hate playing at the Ice Box. We pack the joint, and we're LOUD. Pat yourself on the back, Stars fans.

I am a little surpised by the Fargo number. I figured it would be higher. Also, it will be interesting to see what the Omaha number will be next year. I would think their attendance would go up, but who know.

I think it might take a couple of years for people to catch on to the Force in ND...where college hockey is KING. A long playoff run would certainly help that.

As far as Omaha goes, I think you'll see an initial jump in attendance, but I wonder if the location of the Civic, and the terrible parking will force some folks to stay at home. How many miles is the Civic from the MAC? 2, maybe 3? Will the rich folks out west still travel all that way if they didn't do it when the Lancers played at the MAC? We'll see.
