Three Game Homestand

The Stars will begin their three game homestand this Friday as they knock heads with the Waterloo Blackhawks. On Saturday night, Lincoln will faceoff against the Sioux City Musketeers, and next Tuesday night they finish up at the Ice Box against the dreaded Omaha Lancers.

Obviously, every game is very important at this point in the season...especially home games. The Stars are 18-5-1 at home, while the three teams visiting Lincoln in the next three games are a combined 24-39-6 on the road. Waterloo, Sioux City, and Omaha have not done well on the road this season. It's imperative that the Stars come out strong in each of these three games, and send a message. "This is our house, and these are games we should win at home."

In my opinion, anything less than five points earned out of a possible six from the next three home games would be considered a disappointment. The Stars are a first place team, and now is the time to start getting into "playoff mode," which means making it near impossible for visiting teams to escape the Ice Box with a win.

By the way, is there anything better in this world than a Fri./Sat. weekend of hockey at the Ice Box? Great hockey, good friends, fun environment, and cold beverages. Gives me the warm fuzzies. I do not know if any of the three games are sellouts, but I'm sure they will be soon if they are not already. Make sure if you are in attendance, BE LOUD!

What say you? Would you be happy with two out of three wins at home? Which goaltenders start which games?

And don't forget to leave a little early both nights, Girls State Basketball will be a parking challenge.

I forgot all about that. Thanks, nopuckluck. Doors open at the Ice Box at 6pm, so it might be a good idea to get down there around then if you want a halfway decent parking spot. Even if you do show up late, and have to walk a mile, at least the weather will be nice.

Think tonight will turn into a gong show, or be a clean game?
