Pregame Report - Lincoln at Chicago 3/14

The Stars will look to break out of their two game losing streak as the Stars travel to the "Windy City" to face-off against the Chicago Steel. This will be the fourth and final time the Stars and Steel play each other this regular season. The Stars lead the season series, two games to one.

The Steel are coming off a 6-3 home loss to the Omaha Lancers on Friday night. Steel netminder Nick Pissilini started for Chicago against the Lancers, so I expect Hudson Stremmel to start between the pipes against the Stars. Stremmel has done very well against the Stars this season, compiling a 2-0 record, .929 save percentage, and a 2.88 goals against average in those two games. Chicago forward Greg "Stars Killer" Wolfe has scored four times in three games against the Stars this season.

Lincoln forwards Kirt Hill, Garrett Peterson, and Garrett Vermeersch have each accumulated five points in three games against the Steel this season. Goaltender Anthony Borelli has had better luck against the Steel this season compared to his teammate Kevin Murdock, but it's anyone's guess as to which goaltender will get the nod in this game.

Chicago can certainly score goals in bunches, but they've also shown they can give up goals in bunches as well. Only the Tri-City Storm and the Des Moines Buccaneers have given up more goals this season than the Steel. This might be the game where the Stars can finally start putting some biscuits in the back of the net. I'm sure the merry-go-round of healthy scratches will find its way to four new Lincoln players tonight. How will the team respond? Will the Stars PP get back on track?

Faceoff is at 7:30pm
