More Hardware for Newton

Jake Newton wins USHL Defensive Player of the Week
"Newton, currently fourth in scoring among USHL defensemen, had another good week as the Stars held their lead in the West Division. On Tuesday, Newton had a pair of assists in a 3-1 win at Tri-City. On Friday, he went scoreless in a 3-1 loss at Green Bay. Saturday he scored a goal and had an assist in a 5-2 win at Chicago. He had eight shots on goal and was +3 in the three games."

Nice to see the league single out Newt for this award. He's been on a scoring tear as of late. Jake has scored ten points (2g, 8a) in the last six games. This was the second time this season Jake has won the "USHL Defensive Player of the Week" award.

Congrats, Newt! Well deserved. Yeah, he looks like Lloyd Christmas from the movie "Dumb and Dumber," but he's a helluva defenseman.

Couldn't agree more about the Lloyd Christmas comment. That's funny! "No way, WE'VE LANDED ON THE MOON!!!" "I got worms, that's what were gonna call it" "Tell her I'm devastatingly handsome and I have a rapist's wit"

God that movie is funny

Yeah, that's one of my all-time favorites. I use the "WE'VE LANDED ON THE MOON!" line all the damn time.
