MDA Jersey Auction

The Lincoln Stars held their annual Muscular Dystrophy Association auction tonight after the 5-1 victory over the Fargo Force. Stars Trainer Corey Courtney designed the throwback jerseys, which commemorated the 30th anniversary of the USHL. I have to say, I liked the look of those jerseys a LOT. As much as I would have loved to own one, I just couldn't afford to spend that kind of money on one. I guess I could have put it on plastic, but that would just earn me a weeks worth of sleeping on the couch. The wifey wouldn't have been happy. :)

Here are the results of the auction, courtesy of Brent Wagner of the LJS Blueline Blog. The Stars raised a total of $33,000 for the MDA.

Chris Forfar-$3,500
Kevin Murdock-$3,200
Mike Dalhuisen-$2,000
Kirt Hill-$1,850
Ryan Kretzer-$1,700
Jimmy Siers-$1,400
Garrett Peterson-$1,350
Chris Volonnino-$1,300
Eric Alexander-$1,300
Michael Sdao-$1,250
David Gerths-$1,200
Anthony Borelli-$1,200
Matt Bruneteau-$1,200
Corey Chakeen-$1,100
Garrett Vermeersch-$1,100
Ross Henry-$1,050

Eric Meland-$900
John McCarron-$900
Taylor Kuypers-$900
Cory Hibbeler-$900
Kory Kaunisto-$950
Brett Chartier-$800

The jersey signed by the entire team went for $1,000.

Your opinions on the throwback jerseys? Thumbs up or thumbs down? If they sold them at Faceoff Sports, would you buy one? Were you one of the lucky few that bought one of the MDA jerseys?

I have a few MDA jerseys, but got tired of the popular ones being used as regular season ones the next year. Haven't bought one the last two years.
